Can we talk about the time a simple load chart check turned into a two hour delay?
I was on a job in Tacoma last week, setting a 15-ton HVAC unit on a roof. The chart said we were good, but the wind picked up and the load started to swing way more than expected. It took me and the rigger over two hours to re-check every calculation, adjust the rigging, and finally get it placed safely. Has anyone else had a chart situation that looked fine on paper but got complicated fast?

Honestly, that sounds way too familiar. Had a job lifting some steel beams last month where the chart was perfect for the weight. Tbh we didn't account enough for the boom length once we got it all the way out there, and the whole setup just felt spongy. Ngl, we spent over an hour on the ground recalculating the radius and moving the crane twice before we even hooked a load. Those paper charts never tell the whole story.

Yeah @young.drew, that's just how most instruction manuals work.
