Old guy at the Union Hall in Chicago told me I was throwing my tag lines wrong

I always threw em straight out from the load, thought it kept things clean. But this one operator named Pete said to toss em at a 45 degree angle so they don't whip back into the crane boom. I changed my setup after that and haven't had a single snag in 3 months. Has anyone else gotten a tip that totally flipped their rigging routine?

Yeah that bit about throwing tag lines at a 45 degree angle... I used to be the guy who just let em fly straight out too. Thought I was being efficient or whatever. Then a buddy of mine got his line wrapped around a sheave and it chewed up the cable real bad. I started angling mine after that and it just works better. No more fighting with the boom or worrying about the load swinging weird.

I mean, angling it just saves you a headache later for sure.
