Pro tip: pin your jib pin BEFORE you unhook the load, cost me 3 hours on a rooftop in Dallas
Had a pick last Tuesday on a 6 story building in Dallas, small HVAC unit, should have been a 20 minute job. I unhooked the load and swung back to telescope in, but the jib pin wasn't seated all the way and the whole boom started making a noise I did not like. Spent the next 3 hours with a 200 ft tape and a mirror on a stick trying to see up in the boom section while the super stood there asking if we were done yet. Finally called the dealer and the tech said I had it in the wrong hole the entire time. Anyone else got a trick for checking jib pins without climbing halfway up the boom?
