I finally got called out by a librarian in Phoenix last Tuesday

I was ranting to my friend about how writing prompts have gotten too political these days, and this librarian at the Phoenix public library overheard me. She walked over and said real quick, "You know, people wrote about war and injustice during the 1930s too, it's not new." It shut me up pretty fast because she was right, I was just complaining to complain. Has anyone else had a stranger drop some hard truth on them like that?

That librarian definitely had a different kind of "checking out" in mind. Guess I should have returned my books on time before walking in there with that smirk. At least now I know what the late fee really costs.
