Characters sheets don't actually save plot holes, they just help you spot them earlier.

Wait, you said you used to hate them? That's wild to me. What was it about them that bugged you so much before they basically saved your whole story from falling apart? I feel like most people either love them or just tolerate them, not full on hate them.
