Warning: AI prompt roulette gave me a 14 page disaster

I tried using a random prompt generator for my short story this week, figured it would spark something new. Instead it spat out 14 pages of pure nonsense about sentient cheese and a detective who is also a parking meter. The twist is I learned that 60 percent of those generators just scrape old prompts from this sub, so you are basically writing a fanfic of something someone already posted in 2019. Has anyone else tried one of these tools and just got total garbage back, or did I pick the wrong site?
