Serious question, a coworker from Denmark said showing your salary is normal there. Is that true where you live?
She pulled up a public tax site on her phone at lunch and typed in a name, and there was the income for anyone to see. In the US I have seen people get written up just for talking about pay, so the gap feels huge. One side says hiding pay keeps workers from finding out they are underpaid, the other says open pay kills privacy and starts fights. Where are you from and is pay talk a real taboo or just something people say to keep the peace?
