Vent: my coworker got fired in Ohio for eating lunch with the wrong hand

I work with a guy named Dinesh at our store in Columbus and he got written up twice for eating rice with his left hand in the break room. He moved here from Chennai two years ago and said at home that hand is only for bathroom stuff, so using it for food is a big insult. Our manager finally let him go last month after a customer complained twice. Does anyone else deal with stuff like this at work where a normal habit from home gets people in trouble here?
