Was told to never show my left hand in Kenya and I still don't know if it was real or a joke
Three years ago I was in Nairobi for my cousin's wedding and my aunt pulled me aside during the reception. She said if I hand someone money or food with my left hand, it's seen as really rude, so I spent the whole week passing everything with my right. Last month I mentioned it to a coworker from Mombasa and she laughed and said it's true in some areas but nobody would have cared at a wedding. Now I'm flying to Accra in June and I don't know which rules to trust. Has anyone else been given a 'never do this' warning in one country that a local from there said was overblown?
