Just had the worst framing week of my career in Austin
Last Tuesday I started a custom build in the Hill Country and by Thursday every single wall I squared up was off by half an inch. Turned out my laser level took a tumble off the truck bed and nobody told me. How do you guys catch tool problems before they ruin a whole week of work?

lol the laser level betrayal is brutal. Honestly that sounds like something that'd happen to me after I spent 20 minutes screaming at the studs for being crooked.

oh man, i gotta jump in here @olivers28 because i think you might be mixing up studs and something else. i mean, screaming at studs for being crooked is totally valid, but studs don't really have a ton to do with a laser level's betrayal. idk, maybe it's just me but the laser level thing is more about the floor or ceiling being off, not the studs themselves. like, if your laser level is showing something crooked, it's usually because the surface it's sitting on isn't level, not because the studs are out of whack. i mean, i get the frustration though, sometimes everything just feels like it's fighting you no matter what you do.
