Met a builder in Boise who actually showed me the lumber yard before signing
He spent 45 minutes walking me through different grades of 2x6s and explained why he avoids the big box stores for framing. Has anyone else had a builder take time like that before the contract was even signed?

Asked him if he would put that same attention into picking out the actual lumber for my house? That's the real test right there, because a lot of builders will talk a good game about lumber but then just send their crew to the nearest big box store with a credit card. You gotta wonder if he's gonna be around to oversee the actual delivery and sorting, or if he's just good at selling himself before the contract. Did he show you any pictures of his finished work where the framing looked that clean?
