My builder ghosted me for 3 weeks after pouring the foundation
Last month I paid my custom home builder a $12k deposit to pour the slab for my new house in Austin, and a week later he just stopped answering calls or texts. I drove out there and the concrete was already cracking because nobody came back to cure it. Has anyone else had a contractor vanish mid-project like that?

That $12k figure is the part that got me. I see this kind of thing a lot with small builders right now. They take a big deposit on one job to pay for the last job they messed up. Its a domino effect that just keeps going until someone gets stuck holding the bag. You might want to check if he even pulled a permit for that foundation, that could help you track him down or put a lien on his license.
