My builder left a 2 foot gap behind the shower wall, and the inspector caught it on the third walk
We hired our builder back in March to put up a custom place outside Boise, and things went fine until the rough-in stage. Last week the city inspector came out for his third pass and found a 2 foot gap in the insulation behind the master shower wall, right where the plumbing stack comes up. He said it was the kind of thing that never shows up until you get a cold snap and a mold problem two winters later. Our builder fixed it in a day, but honestly I would have never known to look there. What spots do you all check before the drywall goes up?
