My client's framing inspection in Denver got flagged for a single missing anchor bolt.

The inspector pointed to a corner where the crew had skipped one, saying the whole shear wall assembly was now compromised. We had to tear back the sheathing on that entire side to fix it, which set us back three days. Do you guys have a specific final walk checklist your crews use before calling for inspection?

A single bolt flagged the whole wall? That seems like an inspector looking for any reason to fail you. Those codes have some wiggle room, don't they? Maybe the crew knew that corner didn't need the full load rating. Tearing everything open for one bolt feels like overkill.

Tell me about it. My deck inspection last year failed because a post was an inch too far from the house. The inspector said it could "potentially sway in high winds." Meanwhile, my grill out there weighs more than I do and it hasn't budged. Sometimes they just have to find something to write down.
