My first two builder meetings went nowhere because I brought pictures, not a budget
Walked into custom builders in Boise with a folder of Pinterest photos and got quoted stuff that was way out of reach both times. Third guy asked one thing first, what number am I working with, and the whole conversation changed from there. How did you all figure out your real budget before you ever sat down with a builder?

Sounds backwards, pictures tell builders what you actually want.
