That window order took 8 weeks longer than they quoted

Ordered custom triple pane casements from a local supplier back in March for a kitchen remodel, they said 4 to 6 weeks and it took 14 before they showed up. Anyone else run into builders or suppliers who just completely miss their timelines on specialty stuff?

Gotta call you out a little there man - 14 weeks is rough but you actually got off lucky if you're talking triple pane casements. I've been through the same thing with a window order a couple years back and the truth is most of those companies don't even have a clue how long it'll really take once they start dealing with custom sizes and coatings. They always quote that 4-6 week number like it's a law or something lol. The lead times got way worse since the pandemic too, so honestly 14 weeks is kind of the new normal if you want anything that isn't sitting in a warehouse.

ngl @spencer_moore39 I was about to argue with you at first cuz 14 weeks sounded insane to me but then I actually thought about it and you're kinda right. When I ordered my windows a few years back I got lucky with stock sizes and still waited like 8 weeks. These companies always throw out that 4-6 week timeline but it's basically a marketing number at this point. The pandemic really messed up supply chains too so anything custom is gonna take forever now. I used to think people were just impatient but now I get it's just how it is. You changed my mind on this one for sure.
