We had to choose between a full basement or a slab for our new place in Michigan

Our builder gave us the option for either a full basement with a $25k extra cost or a basic slab foundation, and we went with the slab to keep the budget down. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if we'll regret not having that extra storage and potential living space, especially with the winters here. Anyone else pick a slab over a basement and how's it working out long term?

Oh man, @bailey.elliot is right, my garage is now a maze of holiday decor and I keep tripping over the snowblower. Do you ever just stare at your floor and sigh?

Honestly that "extra storage and potential living space" line hits home. We did a slab in Ohio and the lack of basement storage is a real thing. You get creative with sheds and attic space, but you never stop wanting that big underground room. The money we saved was nice up front, but I'd probably pay the extra now for the basement.
