We went with a timber frame instead of standard stick built and it's been a huge fight
Our builder gave us the choice for our place in Asheville: a normal stick frame or a custom timber frame from a local mill. We picked the timber frame, thinking it would be faster and look better. But the crew they sent didn't know how to seal the joints right, and we had a huge leak during the first big rain. It's been six months of delays and extra costs to fix their mistakes. Has anyone else had a nightmare trying to get a specialty build done right?
