Appreciation post: my bank texted me about a $2 charge and that tiny alert caught a real hack

I set up text alerts for any charge over $1 about a year ago and felt kind of silly about it, but last Tuesday a $2 charge from a gas station in Ohio showed up and I had never been there. Called the bank, turns out someone had my card number and was testing it with small buys before going big. Has anyone else had a small charge alert save them like that?
