Appreciation post: The little cafe near my office finally switched to WPA3 on their guest WiFi
I noticed their router had the old WPA2 sticker for years and kept meaning to mention it, but last Tuesday I saw the network name pop up with a 3 at the end, and honestly it made my whole week knowing I can grab a coffee and browse without worrying about someone sniffing my traffic.

My advice is to keep an eye on the sticker placement. If it's perfectly centered on the router then they probably bought a new unit rather than just updating the firmware. I've seen places slap a new sticker over the old one to fake compliance, but the real tell is checking the actual network name for a "5" frequency band option. A lot of routers now let you clone the old settings so you don't have to re-auth every device, which is probably what they did here. Next time you're in, try running a quick speed test before and after connecting to see if it actually helped performance.

Hold up, you noticed the sticker actually changed? That's wild to me, I figured those stickers were permanent fixtures like the weird art on the wall. Honestly good on them for making the switch, most places just let that stuff rot until the router dies completely.
