Can we talk about how I finally stopped falling for fake package texts

Got hit with one of those "your package cant be delivered" texts 3 times in one week back in March. Almost tapped the link the second time because I actually had a package coming from Amazon. What finally fixed it for me was turning off link previews and just checking the tracking number straight on the carrier site, never through the text. Takes 10 extra seconds and I havent clicked a bad link since. Anyone else got a dumb simple rule like that for texts and emails?
