Dropped $60 on a Yubikey and now I get why people swear by them

I finally got tired of SMS codes getting intercepted so I bought a hardware key last month. My buddy had his SIM swapped last year and lost access to his crypto wallet, that scared me straight lol. The Yubikey setup took maybe 20 minutes to figure out for my Google and GitHub accounts. Already stopped a phishing attempt at work when some fake login page asked for my 2FA code. Crazy how much peace of mind $60 can buy you honestly. Has anyone else switched from authenticator apps to hardware keys and noticed a difference?

Huh... did you ditch the authenticator app completely or just use both?

Kept both for a bit since I'm paranoid about getting locked out. Eventually ditched the authenticator app because SMS is faster when I'm in a hurry. The authenticator just felt like an extra hoop to jump through for no real benefit.
