I let my kid use my work laptop for a school project and it went bad fast

I was at home in Denver, letting my son finish a presentation on my company laptop. He clicked a link in a school email that looked real but wasn't. My antivirus flagged it, but he clicked 'run anyway' when a pop-up said he needed a plugin to view the file. The laptop started running slow, and I saw weird network activity in the task manager. I had to pull the ethernet cable, run a full scan, and call our IT guy to re-image the whole machine the next morning. Has anyone else had a close call with a 'trusted' link from a school or club?

Check if your school's email system filters links.

Ugh, schools are the worst for that stuff.

Make them teach basic link safety, honestly.
