I think everyone is wrong about password managers
Last month in Seattle, my password manager app got locked out after a bad update on my phone. I couldn't get into my bank or email for two full days because the master key was stuck in a broken app. I had to call my bank's support line and go through a long process to prove who I was. Has anyone else had a password manager fail them at a bad time?

My old apartment building in Chicago had a fancy key fob system that broke for a week. We all had to use a single spare key the super kept, which totally defeated the point. Your story feels like that. We put all our trust in one digital lockbox, and when that single point fails, the whole system falls apart. It makes you wonder if spreading things out a bit is smarter.

Ever try spreading things out and it just made more problems?

That "whole system falls apart" line is a bit much, isn't it? It's just a lockbox, @the_julia, not the power grid. Sometimes a simple fix is fine without overthinking it.
