I thought password managers were a hassle until my bank account got hit
Honestly, I kept all my passwords in a notebook for years because I didn't trust software to hold them, but last month someone got into my email and tried to drain my savings. My friend, who works IT, showed me how a manager with a strong master password and two-factor is way safer than my old paper list. What's a good free one to start with that's simple to use?

I mean, my cousin's been using the same password for everything for like a decade and nothing's happened to him. Maybe it's just me but the whole manager thing feels like a solution for a problem that isn't that common. If you're careful about what sites you use, idk, a notebook in your house seems pretty safe. All that software can get hacked too.

Actually 24 billion passwords were leaked online just last year, so it's way more common than you'd think.

Switched to Bitwarden after a similar scare and it's been painless. The auto-fill feature saves me time on my phone and laptop, and I only have to remember one strong password now. That old notebook just can't compete with the convenience and real security.
