Just realized the free airport wifi at Phoenix Sky Harbor grabbed my Gmail password last month

Wifi itself can't really grab your password if the site uses HTTPS. What likely happened is someone set up a fake hotspot with a name like "Sky Harbor Free Wifi" and you joined that instead of the real one. That's called an evil twin and it's pretty common at airports. Check your Google account security page for recent logins, and turn on two factor if you haven't already.
