My buddy who works at a cloud provider told me turning off 2FA was fine for my test server
Got hit with a crypto miner within 48 hours that burned through $200 of compute credits before I noticed, has anyone else trusted bad advice from someone who should know better?

Two hundred bucks later I finally learned 2FA isn't optional even on test servers.

Reminds me of the time I locked myself out of a dev box on a friday afternoon because I ignored the MFA popup one too many times lmao. Learned that lesson real quick.
