My buddy's "just use the same password everywhere" advice nearly cost me $500
My friend Dave laughed at me for using a password manager last spring and said it was a waste of time, so I ignored him and kept reusing one password. Last month someone got into my email through a data breach on some random forum and tried to buy $480 worth of gift cards on my Amazon account before I caught it. Anyone else had to deal with friends giving terrible security advice that almost got you hacked?

Oh man, I feel this so hard - my cousin gave me the exact same advice and I got burned on my Steam account. Bitwarden's free version saved my ass and now I just tell people it takes basically zero effort to set up lol.
