My sister said her new smart fridge needed a password and I just stared at her...
It made me realize how many things in our homes are now little computers that need updates and strong passwords, so I spent last weekend changing all my default router and smart device logins.

Yeah, that "little computers" line hits hard. My toaster asked for a wifi password last year and I just felt tired.

Read an article recently that said some smart home companies actually hire people to test how much frustration regular folks feel before they give up and throw the device out the window. Made me wonder if they're just seeing how far they can push it before we snap. My buddy's washing machine won't start a load unless the app confirms his detergent subscription is active. That's just wrong.

Right? My fridge started sending me alerts about expired milk. Just let me be sad about the milk in peace. Even my light bulbs need updates now. It's too much, just give me a simple on/off switch. Feels like everything needs a login and a password these days.
