Spent $300 on a password manager and still got locked out
Upgraded to the premium tier of Dashlane thinking it would be bulletproof, but their support took 4 days to reset my 2FA after my phone bricked. Paid $300 for a year and felt like I was getting nowhere when I needed in most. Has anyone else had a premium service fail them at the worst time?

You mention "bulletproof" and I get why you'd say that, but I think that's part of the problem right there. No software is bulletproof, no matter what they charge. In my experience, these companies oversell what they can deliver because they know people want to feel safe. I've had similar issues with Bitwarden where a sync delay almost locked me out of my bank account. It's worth keeping a backup of your recovery codes on paper somewhere, even if it feels old school. Your mileage may vary, but I've found that the more you rely on one thing, the more it can bite you when it fails.

... "bulletproof" is exactly what they advertise but it never works out that way. I had LastPass once and got locked out because their browser extension glitched during a password update. Took me three days to get back into my email, which was the recovery key.
