TIL the hard way that a password manager beats sticky notes on my monitor
Honestly, I kept my work login on a yellow sticky note for months until our office in Austin had a break-in last week and my desktop was cleared out. Ngl, switching to Bitwarden took maybe an hour to set up and now I don't have that panic. Has anyone else made a similar switch after a close call?

Sticky notes are still fine for some things. My desk is in a locked office and I need to see the password right away. A manager just adds another step for no real gain.

You said your desk is in a locked office, but is that lock really the only thing between a stranger and your login info? What if someone from cleaning or maintenance comes in, or a coworker you don't know well? A sticky note is visible to anyone who gets past that one door. A password manager adds a step, sure, but that step is you proving it's actually you before anything gets shown.

Oh man, I can just picture it now: a janitor walks in, sees a sticky note that says "P@ssw0rd123" and suddenly they're running the company from their phone while everyone's asleep. Like yeah, the lock keeps out the random guy off the street, but what about the coworker who "forgot their lunch" or the IT guy who just wants to mess with you? A sticky note is basically a welcome mat for anyone with a pulse and a few seconds of curiosity. A password manager at least makes them prove they're not a ghost before they get the keys to the castle.
