Can we talk about how much harder it was to organize a church potluck before everyone had smartphones

I got stuck on the planning committee for our church's big meal last month and it hit me how easy things are now. Back in 2005 we had to call ten people on a landline just to figure out who was bringing mac and cheese. Now I just set up a shared sheet on my phone and everyone fills in their dish within an hour. But I kinda miss the old way because people actually talked to each other on the phone and you got to hear their voices. Does anyone else feel like the convenience takes away some of the connection or am I just being nostalgic?
