DAE think Sunday church services are getting too commercialized now?

Honestly, my local church in Denver added a $5 coffee bar and a merch table last month, and it felt more like a mall than a place to pray. Am I wrong for thinking that takes away from the actual meaning of gathering?

Yeah, that "merch table" bit really got me. I switched to a tiny storefront church that just passes a basket and it feels way more real.

Man, @miam11 nailed it with that merch table thing. I've seen pastors pushing books and DVDs from the stage like it's QVC, totally missing the point of gathering. The whole setup feels designed to sell something, not to actually help people grow.
