Got schooled by a pastor on my own political sign

Honestly, I had this big sign in my yard about voting a certain way last election, thinking I was making a point. A local pastor just knocked on my door, real calm, and said 'your sign is telling people they're bad people for having a different opinion, not that your candidate is good.' That hit me hard because he was right, my sign was totally negative and he broke it down in like 30 seconds. I changed my sign to just say 'Go Vote' with no names or parties, and more neighbors actually stopped to chat about it. Has anyone else had someone from a totally different background call them out in a way that actually changed their approach?

So you just let a pastor you barely know completely change your mind about a sign you put up? Seems like a pretty easy win for him if all it took was one knock on the door. Not saying he was wrong, but maybe your original sign was just dumb to begin with and you didn't need a pastor to tell you that.

If anything @henry_palmer24 I'd argue it takes more backbone to admit you were wrong than to double down on a bad sign.
