Just found out my church's political donations from last year

I was looking through our annual budget report and saw we gave $12,000 to a candidate I didn't even vote for, no one asked the congregation about it. Has anyone else dug into where their religious group's money actually goes?

Honestly, $12,000 to a candidate nobody voted on sounds like a bargain for a social club where you pay dues but don't get a say in the board meetings. Tbh, my old church once spent $8,000 on "missionary travel" that turned out to be the pastor's family trip to Disney World. Ngl, maybe check if your donation went to a candidate who actually shows up for potlucks, because that's the real betrayal.
