My brother said grace at Thanksgiving last year about a political topic, and my aunt walked out
So last Thanksgiving at my parents' place in Ohio, my brother decided to say a prayer before dinner that turned into a mini sermon about voting and some local election stuff. My aunt just got up and left the table, grabbed her coat, and drove home before the turkey even got carved. It was awkward for the rest of us and nobody really knew what to say. The thing is, I actually agreed with part of what he said, but the way he did it made everyone defensive before the food was even passed. What I learned is that timing and setting matter way more than the actual argument if you want people to hear you. I am curious how other folks handle this, do you call out family members at the table or just let it go and talk one on one later?
