Why does everyone act like a guy with a sign holding your guilt trip is some kind of deep wisdom? That homeless dude might just be saying whatever gets him a few bucks, not actually teaching you anything about welfare policy. The system already gives free money, food stamps, and shelters to people who won't work, and a sign with a buzzword doesn't change that reality. Most folks on welfare stay on it because it's easier than actually getting a job, and the ones who really want help usually don't stand around with a sign. Your moment of pity doesn't justify handing out more cash to people who'll just spend it on booze or drugs while hardworking taxpayers foot the bill.
