Our HOA president told me my xeriscape looked "unfinished" and honestly it made me rethink the whole front yard
I ripped out our bluegrass last spring and put in 40 native plants and gravel, and I thought it looked great until our HOA president stopped by and said it looked "unfinished" compared to the neighbors' lawns. At first I was mad, but then I walked the block and saw she had a point, my beds had big empty dirt patches and no real border, so it read as half-done instead of planned. I added flagstone edging and three bigger anchor plants (rabbitbrush and a couple of yuccas) and it finally looked intentional instead of abandoned. Now I'm weirdly grateful for the comment, but I want to know if anyone else here has dealt with the "unfinished" label on a xeriscape and how you handled it.
