Pro tip: Check your sump pump float BEFORE the April storms, not during them
My sump pump quit at 2am during that big rain two weeks ago and I had 3 inches of water in my basement in Wash Park before I even woke up. Turns out the float was just stuck on a clump of dog hair and it took me 4 minutes to fix something that cost me a whole Saturday with a wet vac and a fan. Has anyone else had a float jam up like that, and do you run a backup pump or just cross your fingers?
