Rant: my Denver property tax bill jumped 41% and nobody at the assessor's office can explain why
Got the notice last month for my place in Berkeley and the value went from $485,000 to $683,000. That is a 41% jump in one cycle while my house still has the same 1952 kitchen and a garage door that sticks in winter. I called the assessor's office twice and both people gave me the same line about the market and comparable sales. Has anyone actually won an appeal here, and if so what proof did you bring?
