Rant: My HOA vote went sideways at the Platt Park meeting and I stopped trusting the sign-in sheet
Went to the monthly HOA meeting at the Platt Park rec center last Tuesday and watched them pass a $180 per year hike on a 14 to 9 vote, except 6 of those 14 votes came from board members who had already left the room to go smoke. Last year I skipped two meetings because I figured my one vote wouldn't matter, and that math is exactly how we ended up with $4,200 for new lobby plants and nothing for the crumbling garage ramp. Now I show up early, sign in, and actually count the chairs before anything gets called to a vote. So my question is, has anyone found a trick to get real quorum out to these meetings, or do I just have to be the annoying guy handing out flyers at the mailbox?
