Can we talk about how business advice from 10 years ago just doesn't stick anymore?

Back when I started my cleaning company in 2014, everyone told me to hand out flyers at coffee shops and call it marketing - I was so skeptical of that approach, figured it was a waste of paper. Then a buddy convinced me to try a simple Facebook ad for $50 targeting our neighborhood, and I got three steady clients in one week from that little test. Has anyone else noticed old-school advice failing while something cheap and digital actually pulls through for their Detroit biz?

Who's to say flyers still can't work in the right neighborhood though?

Man, what if someone actually left a QR code on a flyer that led to a secret local deal though?
