Just ran the numbers on my parking lot lease downtown
Found out my landlord is charging me $8 per space per day while the city ramp across the street gets $15. I pulled the city's public contract from the city website last night and compared. Anyone else getting hosed on parking deals in their lease without realizing it?

8 bucks a spot per day seems pretty standard for a private lot honestly, but damn I wanna know what your rent per square foot is on top of that. My buddy rents a lot two blocks from the city ramp in Minneapolis and his landlord bundles parking into the base rent so he cant even see what he's really paying per space. Did you check if your lease has a separate line item for parking or is it just rolled into the gross amount? Because if its buried you might be getting hosed worse than you think.

Oh absolutely, landlords love bundling stuff so you're paying for their secret vacation fund and calling it "competitive market rate." At 8 bucks a day I'd start sleeping in the lot and calling it rent stabilization.
