My landlord raised my rent by $400 in October and I almost had to close my shop on Michigan Ave
I run a small bike repair shop near Michigan Ave in Detroit and my landlord hit me with a $400 monthly increase in October, three months after I signed a two year lease. I called him and he said the "market shifted" so I started looking at spots in Dearborn, but then I found out he never filed the new lease terms with the city like he was supposed to. Any other Detroit owners deal with a landlord pulling this kind of move, and did you fight it or just pack up?
