My uncle told me to skip the Corktown pop-up and focus on my Eastern Market stall instead
Honestly, I listened and lost about $2k in potential weekend sales from foot traffic. Has anyone else had family advice backfire on a location choice?

My cousin talked me out of a spot at the Riverfront festival last summer. Missed out on nearly three grand in custom orders from people who were actually looking to buy.

Could your cousin have been trying to protect you from a bigger loss? Festivals have high costs and sometimes the crowd just isn't right for your work. That three grand in orders wasn't a sure thing before you paid for the booth and your time.

Yeah, that's rough. I get what caseys30 is saying about costs, but sometimes you just have to trust the crowd. Corktown has a different, younger crowd that spends on weekends. Eastern Market is more for groceries.
