Rant: Dropped $400 on those 'pro' window cleaning squeegees and they left streaks

I run a small pressure washing and window cleaning gig here in Detroit. Bought a set of Unger squeegees and a brass channel for $400 from a supply shop on Michigan Ave. First job on a 3 story office building and the rubber was leaving lines everywhere. Wasted half a day redoing windows I already did. Has anyone else tried those Ettore brass channels instead?

Come on now, you really think the Ettore is gonna fix the problem if you already dropped that much on Unger and got streaks? Like lisa said, it's about the rubber and the technique, not the metal. Were you using a brand new rubber strip or was it already sitting in the shop for a while? I've found that even the expensive stuff can be junk if the rubber edge got nicked or dried out before you even opened the package.

Most of this stuff is just overpriced junk that performs the same as the mid-range gear if you're honest about it. The real trick is keeping the rubber clean and not rushing the angle on big glass, not throwing money at brass channels. Seems like everything these days is marketed as "pro" just to make you feel like dropping more cash fixes the problem instead of learning the actual technique.
