TIL my old way of managing inventory was costing me about $200 a month in Detroit

Used to just eyeball supply orders for my shop in Corktown. I'd guess what I needed each month and restock random amounts. Last fall I finally sat down and tracked every single item for 8 weeks with a simple spreadsheet. Turned out I was overordering on certain fittings by like 40 percent while running out of others midweek. Now I do a quick count every Monday morning and order based on actual sales data. Has anyone else found that tracking specific numbers completely changed how you handle your supplies?

Alright, is it really costing you that much or are you just nickel-and-diming yourself over some pipe fittings? Feels like you could spend that spreadsheet time actually selling stuff.

How much did you actually save, though?
