Took a walk down Michigan Ave last weekend and counted 12 empty storefronts

I was grabbing lunch at that new taco spot near the old train station, and I got curious about how many places were just sitting empty. Between Trumbull and 18th, I counted 12 spaces with faded signs still up and papers in the windows. It kind of bummed me out because three of those used to be solid businesses I'd visit regularly. Have any of you seen landlords dropping rent rates lately to fill spots in that corridor?

Gosh, twelve empty spots? That's a lot more than I figured was sitting there. I really hope the landlords start coming down on those rents soon, because at that rate the whole stretch is going to look like a ghost town. Three of them being places you used to go to regularly really hits home too. It's a crying shame when you can't even count on a local shop being there from one year to the next.

Those 12 empties honestly made me realize I was wrong about the area bouncing back fast.
