Tried running Facebook ads for my shop on Gratiot and got zero sales after spending $150
I own a small vintage clothing store near Eastern Market, and I ran a two week Facebook ad campaign targeting people within 5 miles. I spent $150 and got a bunch of likes and shares, but not a single person walked in with a coupon from the ad. I guess the algorithm just doesn't work for brick and mortar places around here. Has anyone else had better luck with Instagram or flyers in the neighborhood?

I mean "got a bunch of likes and shares" is actually your problem, those are vanity metrics that don't mean squat for local foot traffic. Maybe try running a smaller test with a specific offer like "show this ad for 15% off" so you can actually track who's coming in from it, that way you're not just throwing money at the algorithm blind.

honestly your point about "vanity metrics" really hit home for me lol. I used to get so hyped about post engagement until I realized none of those likes ever walked through my door.
the specific offer idea is smart too. I did something similar with my own business last year, just a simple "mention this post for a free diagnostic" and it was way easier to tell what was actually working vs what just looked good on paper. sometimes you gotta trick yourself into tracking stuff properly lol.

wait but did that actually bring people in or just more folks fishing for discounts?
