Appreciation post: I fixed my muddy lineart by working at 400% zoom on a 2000px canvas
Spent two weeks hating every sketch until I watched a Procreate stream where the artist zoomed way in and drew in tiny strokes instead of big lazy ones. If your lines look soft and blobby, try bumping the canvas to 2000px and never drawing below 400%, has anyone else noticed this fixes it instantly?
Ever notice how the same thing happens with handwriting? People scribble fast and sloppy when they write big, but hand them a tiny index card and suddenly the letters get neat and careful. Or look at cooking, when you chop veggies in big rushed cuts they come out uneven, but slow small slices look like a pro did it. My guess is the zoom trick works because tiny strokes force your hand to move slower and your brain to actually watch what it's doing. Big lazy strokes let you zone out, small ones don't. So it's less about the canvas size and more about making yourself pay attention.
